I was going to say something similar, having lost my mother, my brother,
my brother-in-law and my best friend to cancer I understand how serious
the diagnosis can be.

Have they found it in time for it to be treatable? Chemotherapy can be
effective in the early stages, it doesn't always need an operation.

There was a little filler item at the bottom of a page in today's
newspaper pointing out that the interval between diagnosis and follow-up
in some NHS areas is unacceptably long. I will keep my fingers crossed
that it won't apply to your area.

I saw that myself, something about a 70% delay… but I could be wrong as my
brain switches off when the negatives start appearing..

On the upside had a call from Birmingham's QE hospital today.. in tomorrow
for 2 x ct scans, 2 x mri scans, biopsy of scar tissue on throat from
operation I had last year and they are going into my stomach with a cam as
they are worried about soft tissue..

That is good news.

I have had a camera into my stomach. They offered me a local
anaesthetic throat spray or a complete knock-out anaesthetic. I went for
the local and I didn't feel a thing, so you are safe to choose that one
and the recovery time is much quicker which is a bonus.

I hope everything goes OK today.

I was curious so I did a hunt for something that would show what the
front right did and found this:

So that is what is at risk if it continues to grow. At least they are
going to do something about it pretty quickly and then you will know
what you are facing. That must be better than standing in a lukewarm
pot of curry sauce and sinking slowly because you don't know. And if
they do something about it you will have other Christmases after the
next one.

Indeed, never, ever give up.

As someone who has gone through some nasty life changing problems that's
the only thing that has kept me going on.

The light at the end of the tunnel might seem never to end but with hope
and strength it will eventually appear.

May the Gods be with you.

So what are the docs going to do about it. I guess that depends where it is
and how fast its growing.

And I thought 2020 was bad!!!!
Not a good day.. was due to go down at 1pm.. op cancelled at 12:45 due to
there being no available beds! Apparently it's an ongoing issue at
Birmingham QE!! Now booked in on 25th as priority 1st slot. On the
upside I’ve had another MRI and there’s no change to the tumour. Downsides
are that due to the amount of steroids I’m taking to reduce swelling on the
brain I’ve gained 4 stone in weight, my ankles are the same size as my
knees, muscle mass is turning to jelly and finding it difficult to walk, I
have the shakes and short term memory is failing fast.

Hard to believe that in May we were cruising around the Med without a worry
in the world..

It’s now got to the point where the tumour is no longer my main concern ..
my main concern is getting some sort of life control back. I’ve been
completely grounded for a month and feel like I’m trapped in a cage. Not a
good place to be mentally when you are naturally a free spirit.

The bastards are winning right now!
